Vans is really having a moment right now. Sure, the Cali-based skate brand hasn’t gone out of style for decades, but the hype world is tuning back into what they’re offering. Collaborations with artists and limited drops only continue to add fuel to this fire, like the out-of-nowhere Parra x Vans OTW Old Skool 36 in pink that is exclusive to London skate shop Slam City Skates.
In the early morning hours of February 26, Slam City Skates posted to its Instagram page to announce that Piet Parra’s eponymous label would finally be stocked in the retailer's stores. To celebrate, Parra and Slam City Skates created a clothing capsule that was joined by an exclusive Vans OTW Old Skool 36. Like Parra’s recently released Old Skool collab, this pair features a multi-layered wavy suede upper. Most of the model is doused in a single pink hue, while salmon accents pop on the sockliner, white shines on the lace set, and a multi-color finish is applied to Parra’s redesigned “Vans Off The Wall” logo on the tongue.
Piet Parra has a long history of working in the skate world, previously teaming up with Nike SB on an SB Dunk Low that has since gone down as a classic. More recently, we’ve seen Parra tackle Vans collabs, starting with a friends-and-family pair for Go Skateboarding Day in 2024. That was quickly followed by a retail version in September, but just last month Parra brought his touch to the Old Skool in a blue, pink, and orange color scheme.
The Parra x Vans OTW Old Skool 36 Carmine Pink is exclusively available through Slam City Skates online and in-store. Retail is set at $200.
