Ye is back in the public eye. The artist formerly known as Kanye West was persona non grata for good reason after dedicating himself to building failing schools and exploring a new career in antisemitism. Somehow, though, the well-deserved disappearing act didn’t stick, and Ye is back performing in front of stadium crowds and putting shoes in major retail doors.
He’s Back
The Yeezy Slide 01 is from Ye’s independent Yeezy brand, which he went all in on after he was dropped from adidas for his vile actions in the office and gross public commentary. With Ye’s name back resonating in some circles, JD Sports is bringing the Yeezy Slide in-store, returning Ye’s name to retail for the first time since he was fired from The Three Stripes.
