It was hard to keep up with all the sneaker releases that took over Los Angeles for NBA All-Star Weekend last month, but if you’re old enough to remember the human highlight reel play of Jason “White Chocolate” Williams, the return of the Nike Hyperflight was definitely at the top of your All-Star cop list. After bringing the silhouette back with Williams’ Sacramento purple PE in February, Nike is keeping the hype up with a triple-black inline colorway dropping later this month.
The Nike Air Zoom Hyperflight Black is another study in the early aughts patent leather obsession, covering the entire sleek-but-chunky basketball shoe in shiny monochrome black patent leather that shines like a sports car or latex bodysuit. Hits of white on the toeside mini Swoosh and side panel support draw even more attention to the black shine covering the rest of the shoe.

In addition to the limited purple PE pair, an even more exclusive reflective gold colorway, and the inline debut in black, Nike’s Air Zoom Hyperflight push will continue throughout 2026 with a retro red colorway up next. While the shoe was originally released as a performance hoops silhouette, the retro sits firmly in the lifestyle side of things, so don’t expect to see these on the NBA court anytime soon.
The Nike Zoom Hyperflight Black will be released March 20, 2026 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170. For all the latest Nike retro basketball news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
