New Balance is going all-in on the 1890. The tear-drop paneled ABZORB model takes a retro midsole and slaps it on an archival upper to create one of the Boston-based brand's most successful new lifestyle models. After bringing out the silhouette with a few top-tier collabs, the pair is settling into the in-line catalog properly for the summer.
The New Balance 1890 Linen is a monochrome khaki pair with a premium honeycomb mesh upper beneath synthetic paneling in loopy teardrop shapes. The mesh and synthetic upper is splashed with grey and silver accents to match the outsole, with more Linen color on the ABZORB pods.

Like so many New Balance pairs, silver reflective accents jump off the “N” branding and heel accents. Finally, a hit of yellow pops from the midfoot stabilizer that’s barely visible from the bottom of the midsole. The honeycomb mesh is one of the better base materials we’ve seen on an in-line 1890, and this pair is perfect for summer chilling.
The New Balance 1890 Linen will be released Summer 2026 through New Balance and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizes, the retail price is set at $180. For all the latest New Balance news and release details, download the Sole Retriever App.
