New Balance has a hit on their hands with the 1890. After debuting the new shoe with two collab colorways in partnership with Action Bronson’s Baklava label, the Boston-based brand is diving into the inline side of things with bright color and dark contrast.
The New Balance 1890 Yellow Black is the latest colorway of the futuristic runner, starting with a black mesh base and adding bright yellow synthetic paneling creeping up across the shoe in a variety of subtle shade changes. The New Balance “N” logo on the side panels is a two-tone mix of white and grey, with more of the brand’s signature reflective grey shade added to the dew drop hits across the toe and side panel, as well as the NB tongue logo.

In addition to the two Action Bronson colorways, some out-of-the-box luxury moccasin pairs, and a grey, black, and neon green 1890, this black and yellow Wu-Tang pair is just the seventh pair we’ve seen, and only the second true inline release. Expect to see more colorways pop up as the year progresses, though.
The New Balance 1890 Yellow Black will be released March 17, 2026 through New Balance and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $190. For all the latest New Balance news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
