New Balance is bringing the future to the present. The Boston-based brand continues to run up numbers with its archival catalog of mesh and suede lifestyle classics, but as we evolve into a new era of footwear, New Balance has done wonders to keep up with the times, adding solid new comfort-focused silhouettes to the catalog at every turn.
The New Balance 1890 Boysenberry is the latest colorway of the ABZORB-soled runner with a teardrop upper pattern made from a clean mix of synthetic and mesh paneling. On the Boysenberry pair, New Balance brings out ripe berry and sunshine shades for a perfect mix of purple and yellow.

Launched with the help of Action Bronson’s Baklava collab line and recently previewed in a JFG collab, the 1890 has quickly become one of our favorite modern New Balance models, combining old-school appeal with modern aesthetics and comfort. The Boysenberry colorway starts with a purple base, but is interrupted with bright yellow outlines on the teardrop paneling, yellow on the “N” side panel logo, and yellow speckling on the purple midsole.
The New Balance 1890 Boysenberry will be released April 16, 2026 through New Balance and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $180. For all the latest New Balance news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
