Originally released as the Style 36 in 1977, the Vans Old Skool is a staple in the SoCal brand's lineup. Company co-founder Paul Van Doren personally designed the sneaker, introducing the now-famous "jazz stripe" to the world. The canvas and suede upper, paired with the vulcanized rubber sole unit, makes the shoe perfect for skating.
Paul Van Doren, one of the co-founders of Vans, designed the Old Skool in 1977 as a skate shoe. But today, the Vans Old Skool is looked at more as a lifestyle staple. In 2024, the silhouette underwent a pearl makeover dubbed the "Pearlized Pack." Since then, it's become one of the most popular versions of the model. On top of inline releases, plenty of outside collaborators have worked on the Old Skool.
