Michael Jordan’s last dance has been the subject of countless conversations and an incredible documentary series, but what doesn’t often make headlines in the discussion is the letter that Mike published in a local newspaper on his way out the door. That changes this year, with a new Air Jordan 1 High colorway inspired by the love letter Jordan penned to the game.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG Love The Game first showed up in a single leaked image a couple of months back, but now, with the colorway slated for release soon, we’ve got a full look at the pair and the inspiration behind it. Featuring a mix of deep brown suede on the toe and lace panels, pebbled brown leather on the heel, and a white leather base, the colorway quotes from Jordan’s farewell letter on the lateral ankle, back of the tongue tag, and on the basketball-shaped hangtag.
On the medial side of the Spalding-style pebbled ankle panel, the quote “much love and respect” is added subtly, while the back of the tongue tags feature part of the letter that starts, “Since then, you’ve become much more than just a ball to me.” The “much love and respect” quote is added to the hangtag as well, with a basketball-print box made specifically for the colorway.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Love The Game will be released Fall 2026 through Nike and select Jordan retailers in-store and online. Available in full-family sizing, the retail prices are set at $185 (adult), $140 (GS), $85 (PS), and $70 (TD). For all the latest Jordan news and drop info, download the .
